If a tooth has decay to the nerve, is broken due to old fillings or trauma, the tooth may need Root Canal therapy. Root Canal Therapy involves removing exiting decay, removing the nerve tissue inside the tooth and root, and replacing it with endodontic filler. This seals the tooth to prevent future infection. The tooth then requires a filling and a crown.
